My name is Steve Griffiths, though most people in motorsport circles know me as “Sport”. My journey began back in 1981, when I first got involved in motorsport through Moto-X. In the late 1980s, I transitioned into rallying and immersed myself in every aspect of the sport — from marshalling, navigating, and driving, to working as a mechanic and team leader.
About Me
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to achieve some incredible milestones:
- WRC wins as both a mechanic and a team principal.
- Competing as a driver in the WRC, British Rally Championship, and across Europe in the Peugeot Masters series — finishing 2nd in Belgium.
My passion has always been with Group B and Group 4 rally cars, the iconic machines of rallying’s golden era. At one point, I owned my dream car — a Metro 6R4. While I regrettably sold it, I’ve since built my own replica and now produce these cars for customers.
I’ve also built replicas of other legendary rally icons, including the Ford RS200 and the Audi S1 E2.
Today, my focus is on something truly special: bringing the legendary Lancia Stratos Group 4 rally car back to life. This car dominated the rally world in the 1970s, winning three World Championships, and now we’re reproducing it for passionate enthusiasts like myself.
The Car
We’ve recently acquired the famous Lancia Stratos Rallycross car from John Cross
A machine with an incredible history — it has five Super Retro Championship titles to its name.
The JC car was competing for 5 seasons but won one championship with 50+ podiums.
Using this proven, championship-winning car as our base, we are producing high-quality reproductions of this Italian rally legend.
You’ll have the choice of:
- A build to original factory Group 4 specifications.
- A faithful reproduction of the John Cross rallycross car, or
A great option is the rolling chassis kit. It makes it easier for customers to get started with their builds while ensuring consistent quality. We manufacture all chassis and body panels in-house for complete control over fit, finish, and performance.
